leadership, professional development, and instructional strategies to improve teaching and learning
Evidence
ReflectionThroughout the doctoral program, I have consistently utilized data and research-based evidence to inform leadership decisions and instructional strategies. In EDLE 701 – Data Analysis, I refined my quantitative research skills through SPSS, learning how to translate statistical outputs into actionable insights for professional learning communities and instructional improvement. The EDLE 705 Case Study – Inequality of Professional Development Opportunities provided a deep examination of how access to quality learning experiences impacts teacher growth and student outcomes. This analysis reinforced the importance of equitable leadership and evidence-based decision-making in designing professional development systems that truly improve teaching and learning. In EDLE 736 – African American Women, I explored leadership narratives that challenged assumptions about influence, identity, and access within educational systems. Finally, my EDLE 530/710 work on Online Professional Development and Digital Portfolios translated these concepts into practice, developing structures that use data to personalize learning and sustain teacher reflection. Collectively, these experiences strengthened my ability to leverage data and research not only for evaluation but for empowerment—ensuring that professional learning and instructional practices are both equitable and evidence-driven. |
